Arrive at Paro International Airport, where our representative will greet you and drive you to Thimphu, the capital city. Enjoy the scenic route through charming hamlets.
Our first stop is Simtokha Dzong, a fortress steeped in legend. Built to subdue a malevolent spirit, this historic site stands as the first dzong in Bhutan and the gateway to the Thimphu Valley.
Continuing our journey, we arrive in Thimphu and visit Tashichho Dzong, an architectural marvel known as ‘the fortress of the Dharma Raja.’ As the traditional seat of Bhutan’s civil government, this impressive structure radiates both power and serenity.
Note: Tashichho Dzong is open to visitors after 5 pm on weekdays and from 9 am to 5 pm on weekends.
Begin your day with breakfast before heading above Thimphu city, passing the Mothitang area. Our first stop is the Takin Reserve Center, home to Bhutan’s unique national animal, the Takin, which has the body of a cow and the head of a goat, a creation of the legendary Divine Madman.
From here, embark on a scenic hike through apple orchards and farmhouses adorned with fluttering prayer flags. The trail offers stunning views of Thimphu city and leads you through oak, blue pine, and rhododendron forests, eventually arriving at Wangtse Monastery. Here, take in panoramic views of Tashichho Dzong, Thimphu city, and the Buddha statue.
In the afternoon, visit the National Institute of Traditional Medicine, where modern and traditional healing practices merge. Later, explore the bustling Thimphu weekend market, the largest domestic market in Bhutan and a popular spot for both locals and tourists.
Return to your hotel for a restful night, having experienced the rich culture and natural beauty of Thimphu.
After a delightful breakfast, embark on a morning of exploration in Thimphu.
Start with a visit to the Folk Heritage Museum, a charming 19th-century building filled with artifacts that offer a glimpse into traditional Bhutanese life. Then, marvel at the Memorial Chorten, a stunning Tibetan-style monastery adorned with golden spires and bells. Lastly, explore the National Library of Bhutan, a beautiful traditional building housing a vast collection of Buddhist texts.
In the afternoon, drive to Paro, enjoying the scenic journey through the Bhutanese landscape.
Once in Paro, visit the National Museum of Bhutan, housed in the unique Ta-dzong, an ancient watchtower with fascinating exhibits. Conclude your day at the Paro Dzong, known as the “Fortress on a Heap of Jewels,” a splendid example of Bhutanese architecture and culture.

Begin your day with an exhilarating hike to the iconic Taktsang Monastery, known as the “Tiger’s Nest.” Perched on a cliffside at an altitude of 3000 meters, this stunning monastery is Bhutan’s most famous landmark and an unofficial symbol of the country. The hike offers breathtaking views and a profound sense of serenity as you ascend through lush forests and across mountain streams.
In the afternoon, visit Kyichu Lhakhang, one of Bhutan’s oldest and most revered temples. Built in the 7th century, this sacred site near Paro Airport is a testament to Bhutan’s rich spiritual heritage.
End your day with a peaceful evening back at your hotel, reflecting on the spiritual and natural beauty experienced.
Today, you will be transferred to the airport for your onward journey, taking with your unforgettable memories of Bhutan’s rich culture and stunning landscapes.
