Nepal is the land of beautiful temples, majestic mountains and pristine lakes. Tibet, call it “The Roof of the World”, “The Forbidden City” or the “Third Pole”- so magnetic is its fame that a mere mention conjures up images of grandeur and spirituality amidst a wild and uncompromising landscape.

An excellent combination of these two unique and fascinating countries that are rich in terms of culture, ethics, and old traditions will leave behind a feeling of nostalgia for every traveller who is fortunate enough to visit them.

Day 1: Arrive in Kathmandu

Once you land at Tribhuvan International Airport, complete the immigration formalities. You will then be met by our airport representative and transferred to the hotel. You will be briefed about the programs and rest of the day will be at leisure.

Day 2: In Kathmandu

After breakfast start your day with a visit around Kathmandu, the largest city of Nepal which is the political as well as the cultural capital of the country.
Kathmandu is blessed by a living goddess. The Kumari Devi is the most important of several living goddesses in Nepal. Visit the Kathmandu Durbar Square, a UNESCO World Heritage Site where the goddess resides surrounded by temples and a museum.

Later visit Swayambhunath Stupa, another UNESCO World Heritage Site. This ancient stupa is the most sacred Buddhist shrine of Nepal and is also known as a Self-Created stupa.

Day 3: In Kathmandu

Today you will visit Boudhanath Stupa and the ancient city of Bhaktapur.

Visit Boudhanath Stupa, one of the most imposing landmarks of Kathmandu which is the center of Tibetan Buddhism. The stupa is built on a massive three level mandala style platform and is 36 meters (118 feet) in height.
Buddhist Child Home, named after the name of Lord Buddha, the precursor of peace, is a non-religious, non-sectarian, and non-profit humanitarian organization. This is a unique opportunity to interact with the less fortunate kids; who in true sense feel fortunate to be a part of this organization as there are many others yet to be rescued.

Later transfer to the medieval city of Bhaktapur.
Bhaktapur or Bhadgaon translates as the ‘City of Devotees’. You can also experience pottery in Bhaktapur.
A UNESCO World Heritage Site, the extraordinary Bhaktapur Durbar Square has monuments that reflect the glory days of the Malla Dynasty when art and architecture thrived in the three cities of the Kathmandu valley.

Day 4: Fly to Lhasa

Flight Duration (International Flight): 1 hour approx.
Drive Time (Airport to Lhasa): 1 hour approx.
Altitude: 3,595 m / 11,794 ft

After breakfast transfer to the airport and fly to Lhasa. Upon arrival at the Gonggar Airport, you will be received by our representative and transferred to the hotel.
Lhasa, the heart and soul of Tibet, is a city of wonders. The visits to Potala Palace, Norbulingka, and Sera monastery, Drepung monastery, Jokhang Temple and Barkhor market would be an awesome experience.
Rest of the day is at leisure.

Day 5: In Lhasa

After breakfast visit Sera Monastery: 5km north of Lhasa, the Sera Monastery’s setting is one of the prettiest in Lhasa, hugging the ridge that forms the northern wall of the Kyi Chu valley. Also visit Drepung one of the “great three” Gelukpa university monasteries of Tibet. The Drepung Monastery houses many cultural relics, making it more beautiful and giving it more historical significance.
Transfer back to the hotel after the sightseeing.

Day 6: In Lhasa

Visit the Potala Palace, Norbulinka, Jokhang and Barkhor market.

Visit the Potala Palace, the chief residence of the Dalai Lama since the 7th century which has been the focus of the travellers for centuries.

Norbulingka: It is the biggest man-made garden in Tibet. The park was built by the Seventh Dalai Lama in 1755, and became the summer residence of the Eighth Dalai Lama.

Jokhang meaning ‘House of the Lord’ in Tibetan is located at the center of old Lhasa and is the oldest and the most revered religious structure in Tibet. It was built by craftsmen from Tibet, China and Nepal and thus features an intriguing mix of architectural styles.

Barkhor Street is the oldest street in Lhasa and runs through the center of the old city. It is a circular street where Tibetan culture, economy, religion and arts assemble. The word Barkhor refers to the middle of the three concentric holy circuits around the Jokhang.

Day 7: Fly back to Kathmandu

Flight Duration (International Flight): 1 hour approx.

After breakfast transfer to the airport and fly to Kathmandu. Upon arrival at the Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu, you will be met by our representative and transferred to the hotel.

After freshening up visit Patan also known as Lalitpur, the city of artisans that is a paradise of fine arts and one of the three cities in the Kathmandu valley.  It is home to the valley’s finest craftsmen who have preserved such ancient techniques and lost wax process used to produce exquisite sculptures. The city retains much of its old charm with its narrow streets, brick houses and multitude of well-preserved Hindu temples, Buddhist monasteries (vihars) and monuments.

Day 8: Final Departure

After breakfast, transfer to the airport for your onward journey.
