Pokhara’s bewitching beauty has been the subject of many travel writers. Its pristine air, spectacular backdrop of snowy peaks, serene lakes and surrounding greenery make it ‘the jewel in the Himalaya’, a place of remarkable natural beauty.

Visit The Davis Fall, a lovely waterfall that marks the point where a stream from Phewa Lake vanishes underground through a natural tunnel. Gupteshwor Mahadev Cave, across the Davis Fall, is one of the longest caves in Nepal. Visit Pokhara’s traditional old bazaar.

Enjoy boating at the Phewa Taal, the second largest lake in Nepal. The lake is stream fed but a dam regulates the water reserve, therefore, it is classified as semi-natural freshwater lake.  Visit Barahi Temple – the island temple situated in a small island in the Phewa lake surrounded by marvelous views. Later transfer to the hotel as booked.

5km North of Lhasa, Sera Monastery is one of the prettiest in Lhasa, hugging the ridge that forms the Northern wall of the Kyi Chu valley. About 8km to the west of central Lhasa, Drepung, one of the world’s largest monasteries was built in 1416 by Jamyang Choje.

From the Sera Monastery we start our hike to Phabongkha. The walk beginning from the first left turn of the military hospital is pretty straightforward. After a while, a T-junction approaches where you need to make a right turn.  Perched on a granite boulder to the left you will see the Phabongkha monastery whereas on the right is the Chupsang nunnery.

Phabongkha Monastery was built in the 7th century by King Songtsen Gampo and it is famous because the Tibetan king Trisong Detsen, Guru Rinpoche and Tibet’s first seven monks all meditated here at various times.  Further inside the monastery, you will come across holy buildings like Rigsum Gonpo Temple, Palden Lhamo Cave, Pabonka Potrang, and Jasa Podrang or temple of Princess Wencheng.

You can also make an additional visit to the Chupsang Nunnery and the Choling hermitage which provides good views. Many pilgrims drink the holy spring water before making a kora of the hermitage.
Later drive back to the hotel.

Today we will visit Potala Palace, Jokhang, Norbulinka and Barkhor market in Lhasa.

Potala Palace has been the focus of the travellers for centuries. It is the cardinal landmark and a structure of massive proportion.

Also visit the summer palace of His Holiness Dalai Lama, Norbulinka.

Visit Jokhang, the oldest and the most revered religious structure in Tibet and Barkhor market. The Barkhor circuit runs through the heart of the old city where life has changed little down the centuries and it gives you a curious sensation of having slipped through time into a medieval carnival.
